Y1 World Book Day and Mad Hatter's Tea Party
Lesson: Literacy
Class: Year 1 Year: 2025 - 2026
Children had a fabulous World Book Day which started off with a debate around who was better 'Superheroes or Princesses'. Children were able to explain why they thought superheroes were better with some reaosns being 'because they are stronger, they can fly and shoot webs, they defeat baddies.' However, the counter argument about princesses being better was great as children said, 'they have a sidekick, they still have special powers but they are less violent.' After this we had a great afternoon with Jan Blake who is our resident story teller.
Children were then invited to our Mad Hatters Tea Party to kick off our next unit in Literacy. They enjoyed all of the decorations and coming to school in party clothes.
