Update On School Reopening

Update on the current situation regarding school opening.
To update you on the current situation regarding school opening.
We know that these have been challenging times and thank you for your valuable partnership in the distance learning we set up. Teachers and TA’s have been working very hard to meet pupil needs through the distance learning which is not easy.
As you are aware the Government would like schools to have a phased re-opening from 1st June 2020 for certain year groups. The exact arrangements have largely been left to the Local Authority and schools. At the moment there are lots of discussions going on about complex arrangements; which have to be made in order for schools to safely to meet government criteria where staff and children are confident and safe in the working environment.
The curriculum and many of our policies will have to be adapted to meet specific needs such as Reading. We have to buy in additional resources and replace resources and equipment.
As you can appreciate under the current situation e.g. staff unable to meet in groups, availability of resources, new guidelines etc that this is and has been very challenging.
However, rest assured that we will do everything in our power to ensure children are safe and well educated (academic, social wellbeing with a focus on mental wellbeing, anxiety and mindfulness) in our school and are met with confident and well-prepared staff and learning environment.
We will let you know two days in advance when the school will re-open and which year groups initially will be invited in. Procedures and protocols will also be sent to you and we will ask you to follow these strictly.
In these frustrating times patience is the key to a safe return to normality.
I would like thank parents, pupils and staff on their ongoing patience and co-operation.
We know some families are observing Ramadan and will be celebrating Eid. We wish you Eid Mubarak in advance.
